I started Jolly Jug Recordings privately in 2018 out of a simple need to give independent artists and some of my boutique clients a better way to release their music. I saw how much time and energy artists were spending on the business and administrative side of releasing records when they really wanted to focus on what they do best, creating great music.
With 35 years of experience across the music business, including work as an adjunct educator, corporate audio programmer in Music and Brands, and artist manager for (more than a decade), starting a record label felt like a natural progression in how I could support the artists I work with.
Today, Jolly Jug Records is focused on independent artists across multiple genres. My experience runs deep in folk, bluegrass, Americana, indie pop, and blues, but I believe great music speaks for itself. I am more interested in an artist’s sound, vision, and potential than in fitting them into a particular genre.
I am intentional about the artists I bring onto the label. Jolly Jug Recordings is not a label services company, and I do not take on every client. I carefully curate the roster, choosing artists whose music, vision, and approach to their careers align with what I want the label to represent.
What began quietly with a handful of private releases in 2018 took on a more public identity in 2025, with a growing roster and larger releases. While the label continues to evolve, my goal remains the same: to give independent artists an experienced, thoughtful partner who understands both the creative process and the business realities of building a lasting music career.
